I'm your host, Liz Vivian, a mom and a menstrual health educator and coach. I love teaching about menstrual cycles — from biology and hormones to inner seasons and cyclical self care. Today, I talk about motherhood, love languages and loving your daughter through every stage and phase of her menstrual cycle with Charise Freeman of Growing in Love Together. Charise is a mom, an author, a speaker and a retired Air Force veteran who helps moms connect with their daughters through the five love languages.
Like everyone's, Charise's motherhood story is complex and special and I'm so thankful she shared it with us. You'll hear Charise talk openly about sexual assault, self-harm, and other challenges as well as the learning and joy she experienced as a first time mom almost two decades ago. During this conversation, we could see each other to nod, touch our hearts, shake our heads and feel our way through, but you'll hear less of me to start because I wanted to hold the space for her rather than guide with questions or commentary.
